Chart of the Day: Commercial sector dominates investment sales transactions in Q1 2023

The sector saw a total investment sales of $3.38b

The Commercial sector led the investment sales transaction volumes in the first quarter of 2023, totalling $3.38b in investments sales, according to this chart by Savills.

The sector’s growth is mainly attributed to the completion of sales of Jurong Point, Swing By @ Thomson Plaza and a 50% stake in NEX. These three shopping malls alone totalled $2.81b or 83.3% of the sector’s total.

Meanwhile, the residential segment comprised 28% of the total investment sales at $1.58b. The collective sales market saw momentum with the sale of three private residential sites for $583.8m.

A total of 12% of the total sales transaction volumes were from the industrial segment.
