Ong Beng Seng retains role as Hotel Properties MD despite court charges

One is facing charges of abetting obstruction of justice.

Ong Beng Seng will retain his role as managing director of Hotel Properties despite facing charges in court for abetting a public servant in obtaining gifts and obstruction of justice.

In a bourse filing, Hotel Properties stated that Ong is on bail and "continues to be suitable to carry out his duties and responsibilities as Managing Director."

"The Board and the Nominating Committee will continue to monitor the progress of the matter, and the Nominating Committee will continue to reassess the suitability of Mr. Ong's continued appointment," the company added.

The company also mentioned that Ong is already seeking legal advice on the charges filed against him in court.
