Sembcorp unit, Becamex to build 4 new Vietnam Singapore Industrial Parks

One of the four VSIPs will be built in Lang Son, Vietnam.

Sembcorp Development, Sembcorp Industries’ wholly-owned subsidiary, and Becamex IDC Corporation will build four additional  Vietnam Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIPs).

In a bourse filing, Sembcorp Industries said it already received the investment licence to develop the 600-hectare industrial park in Lang Soon.

It has also received in-principle approvals to develop new VSIPs in Thai Binh, Binh Thuan and Ha Tinh from Vietnam Prime Minister Minh Chinh.

With the addition of the four new projects, Sembcorp and Becamex’s VSIP portfolio now stands at 17, making it the largest Vietnam-Singapore collaboration in 13 locations across Vietnam.

Meanwhile, 10 provinces in Vietnam have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sembcorp and Becamex to engage in feasibility studies for more VSIPs.

The provinces were Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh in the south;  Khanh Hoa, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Ngai II in central; Thanh Hoa in north-central; and Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Hai Duong II, Hai Phong II in the north.
