Finance sector dominates half of Singapore's overseas investment

Manufacturing accounts for 17% of the country's overseas capital.

The Finance & Insurance industry accounted for 50.5% of Singapore’s direct investment abroad (DIA) as of the end of 2024, according to data from the Singapore Department of Statists (SingStat).

This sector was followed by Manufacturing accounting for 17.0%, and Wholesale & Retail Trade accounting for 6.7%.

The top three industries collectively accounted for 74.2% of the total DIA in 2024.

Meanwhile, the other sectors accounted for smaller shares, with Real Estate at 6.6%, Information & Communications at 5.1%, Professional, Administrative & Support Services at 3.8%, Transportation & Storage at 2.7%, and all other sectors combined at 7.6%.
