Budget 2026: All households get $500 vouchers from January 2027

Half the vouchers go to supermarkets with the rest for heartland merchants and hawkers.

The government said a cost-of-living special payment will be issued to Singaporean adults earning up to $100,000 in accessible income and who own no more than one property. Payments will range from $200 to $400 in cash.

“Second, there will be additional U-Save rebates to help households with their utility expenses. Eligible HDB households will receive 1.5 times the regular amount of your savings rebates, or up to $570 this financial year,” Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said at the Singapore Budget 2026.

Starting January 2027, all Singaporean households will receive $500 in Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers.

Half of the vouchers can be used at participating supermarkets, and the remainder at Heartland merchants and hawkers, following the model of previous rounds.

The government said it will continue to review and enhance social support across education, housing, healthcare and retirement, covering families, parents, seniors, persons with disabilities and caregivers.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
