Business receipts up 6.6% YoY in Q2

Quarter on quarter, it grew 3.7%.

The Business Receipts Index (BRI) of the services industries increased 6.6% year on year (YoY) in Q2 2025, according to SingStat.

All industries, except for Transportation & Storage, registered higher business receipts.

The overall business receipts were also up 3.7% quarter on quarter (QoQ), with all industries, except for Transportation & Storage and Finance & Insurance, registering higher business receipts.

The Recreation & Personal Services industry reported a growth in revenue of 16.6% YoY, mainly due to increased earnings of the Gaming, Attractions, and Arts & Entertainment segments.

The Information & Communications industry registered a 13% YoY growth in earnings, mainly driven by firms engaged in games publishing, data analytics processing, hosting and related activities, and internet search engines.

The sector also reported a growth of 14.8% QoQ in revenue, mainly due to software development and internet search engines.

Conversely, the Transportation & Storage industry contracted by 2.3% YoY, largely due to the weaker performance of the Water Transport sector.

The industry also recorded a 1.2% QoQ decrease in receipts, largely due to declines in earnings in the Water Transport sector and Land Transport sector.

The professional services industry registered a 5.9% QoQ increase in receipts, with most of its major sub-sectors showing growth, such as head offices, architectural & engineering, accounting and legal activities, advertising and market research, and business consultancy.
