Business receipts fall 3.7% QoQ in Q1 2025

Year-on-year, it grew 6.1%.

The Business Receipts Index (BRI) of the services industries increased 6.1% year-on-year (YoY) in Q1 2025, SingStat reported.

According to SingStat, all industries except for Recreation & Personal Services registered higher business receipts.

Meanwhile, overall business receipts fell 3.7% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) with all industries, except for Recreation & Personal Services and Education, registering lower business receipts.

The Recreation & Personal Services industry registered a growth of 5.6% in revenue, mainly due to revenue gains from the Gaming and Attractions segments.

The Professional Services industry reported a decline of 12.6% QoQ in receipts, with most of the subsectors such as Legal, Management Consultancy, Architectural and Engineering activities reporting lower earnings.

The Transportation & Storage also posted an 8.2% decline with all subsectors registering weaker performance , particularly the Water Transport sector which saw a fall in earnings due to lower freight rates.
