Chart of the Day: NODX growth sinks into the red in May

Growth was at -1.2% for the said month.

Singapore's non-oil domestic exports remained in the negative zone in May, recording a -1.2% growth after the 0.8% slump in the previous month.

This chart from IE Singapore shows that the 3-month moving average of NODX slumped to 4.7% in May, after the rosy 11.6% and 15.2% in the previous months.

On a month-on-month seasonally adjusted (m-o-m SA) basis, NODX rose by 8.1% in May 2017, after the previous month’s 9.0% decrease, due to the increase in both electronic and non-electronic NODX. On an SA basis, the level of NODX reached $14.6b in May 2017, higher than the $13.5b in the previous month.
