No Singapore Bank in World's 50 Biggest Banks List

None had enough total assets to beat Chinese, Japanese and Western banks.

Global Finance has revealed its annual listing of the World’s 50 Biggest Banks for 2012, as measured by total assets. Deutsche Bank has jumped from second to take the lead-it is now the largest bank in the world, followed by HSBC and BNP Paribas.

"China again has six banks in top 50-the largest group from any single country, and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China jumps from ninth to fourth-largest in the world. The US, UK, France and Germany each have five banks in the top 50," noted Global Finance.

Here are the top 10 Biggest Banks with the full list to be published in the October issue of Global Finance magazine. Total assets shown are in $m.
