F&B sales rose 2.9% to $677m in June

Fast food outlet sales inched up 8.4%.

Food and beverage (F&B) sales increased 2.9% YoY to around $677m in June from $659m last year.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, sales of food & beverage services rose 0.9% in June 2018 over the previous month.

Fast food outlet sales led the gains at 8.4%. Food caterers and restaurants sales also rose 5.1% and 4.8%, respectively. Meanwhile, other eating places such as cafes saw sales declining at 1.9%.

Despite this, fast food outlet sales and other eating places declined 3% and 0.2% MoM, respectively, on a seasonally adjustment basis. Meanwhile, sales of restaurants and food caterers grew 2.6% and 1.1%, respectively.
