Here are 2 factors that could threaten Dairy Farm's growth outlook

Is it too prone to legislation changes?

According to DBS, Dairy Farm (DFI) is a leading pan Asian retailer, operating over 5,600 supermarkets, hypermarkets, health and beauty stores, convenience stores, home furnishing stores.

DFI offers exposure to rising Asian consumption as its retail operations are diversified across Asian markets, with different store formats targeting various consumer segments.

The analyst notes two possble threats to DFI's growth outlook.

Here's more from DBS:

Higher rental, labour and food costs. Susceptible to higher food prices, rental rates and labour costs. However, diversified operations across Asia Pacific give it better bargaining power.

Exposed to legislation changes. Subjected to legislation changes in any of the 12 countries it operates. However, being operationally diverse, changes to wage or property in any market will not impact earnings significantly.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes.
