Singaporeans crowned Asia’s biggest leisure spenders with $3,190 average trip budget

Klook’s 2026 report shows Singapore travellers outspend regional peers on 7+ night trips.

Singaporeans are the highest long-leisure travel spenders in Asia in 2026, with an average expected spend of $3,190 (US$2,500) for trips of seven nights or more, according to Klook’s Travel Pulse 2026.

Of those surveyed, 90% plan to maintain or increase their budgets for activities, tours, and experiences, Klook said.

Over 80% of Singaporeans traveled overseas in 2025, above the global average of 60%, the report noted.

Nearly half are planning a trip within three to six months, whilst eight in 10 plan at least one short-haul trip and nine in 10 a medium- or long-haul trip over the next 12 months, Klook added.

Japan remains the top destination, with growing interest in cities beyond Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, including Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Sapporo.

Mainland China is also popular, with Singaporeans considering Chengdu, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Harbin, and Suzhou, according to the report.

50% plan to increase spending on food, dining, and activities, including outdoor adventures and theme or water parks, Klook added.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
