Guess what Singapore employers will use to attract talents

Only 20% will bank on company reputation.

According to Michael Page Singapore H2 2013 Employment Pulse, 30% of surveyed employers said that competitive salaries will most likely be implemented as an attraction strategy, followed by scope for career development (26%) and promoting the company’s reputation (20%).

Salary continues to be the biggest push/pull factor in the local market – representative of the mindsets of the local audience.

The Michael Page Singapore business has observed new and innovative trends that employers are implementing to attract new talent, and social media is particularly popular.

Companies are creating corporate Facebook and LinkedIn pages that include the employer’s corporate mini-site, job postings and other channels to interact with professionals and create buzz with the opportunity to ‘like’, share or post content.

Also, a sign-on welcome bonus and referral schemes are other strategies Michael Page clients are implementing to attract new talent.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
