More than six in 10 SG employees prioritise job stability, work-life balance

61% would decline a job offer if they experienced a negative recruitment process.

More than six in 10 Singaporean employees said that they prioritise having a stable job with a good work-life balance, the highest in Southeast Asia and globally, according to a Jobstreet survey.

The survey, which polled 3,260 respondents from the city-state, also found that joining a good company (59%) and exploring new professions through reskilling (34%) ranked second and third, respectively.

Moreover, a majority (64%) favoured a full-time five-day work week, whilst 27% preferred working part-time only 5% wanted to work more than full-time.

However, 61% said they would decline a job offer if they experienced a negative recruitment process.

Additionally, companies that do not offer mental health support (37%) and work-from-home options (31%) are also deal breakers.
