PropertyGuru Group appoints Lewis Ng as new CEO

It will be effective in March.

PropertyGuru Group has named Lewis Ng as its new CEO, effective in March.

“I am thrilled to return to PropertyGuru,” Ng said. “I am honoured to lead PropertyGuru in its next chapter and work alongside our talented teams.”

Ng has held leadership roles at global brands like Apple, TripAdvisor, and Southeast Asia’s unicorns Carousell and PropertyGuru.

For nearly six years at PropertyGuru (2014-2019), he served as Managing Director of Singapore and Chief Business Officer for the group. Ng also serves as a board director at Zhaopin, an employment marketplace in China.

“I have decided that the time is right for me to pursue new interests and for the company to transition to new leadership,” said Hari V. Krishnan, CEO of PropertyGuru Group. “I am confident he [Ng] will bring a fresh perspective to our organisation whilst staying deeply aligned with our vision and values.”

Krishnan, who will be stepping down from his role as CEO, will continue to be closely involved with PropertyGuru as Senior Advisor to the Board.

In addition, the group has also announced the appointment of a new Board of Directors.

Trevor Mather has assumed the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors, having previously served as CEO of Auto Trader. He is currently the Chairman of Baltic Classifieds Group.

Moreover, PropertyGuru's Board of Directors includes Janice Leow, a partner in the EQT Private Capital Asia advisory team and head of EQT Private Capital Southeast Asia, and Ed Williams, founder and ex-CEO of Rightmove, Chairman of Trade Me in New Zealand, and ex-Chairman of Auto Trader.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
