This entrepreneur finds calling in helping companies innovate

With Innovation Labs Asia, Scott Bales is all set to build digital capabilities - one firm at a time.

With clients including Amazon Web Services, DBS, Google and Standard Chartered, Scott Bales’ Innovation Labs Asia is soon becoming a household name for companies seeking to innovate their way to success.

A self-confessed ‘innovation executive’, Bales set up Innovation Labs Asia in 2014 with the aim of propelling companies forward through a core programme and complementary workshops designed to develop skills and corporate entrepreneurship. Service offerings can range from a half-day workshop to 12 week acceleration programme.

“We build capability and culture in individuals and organisations, to drive the success of innovative initiatives and ventures. We partner with organisations with an appetite to pivot or transform, in a robust manner and to lead them to excel through Innovation,” says the 38-year-old entrepreneur.

The firm does this through a fine-tuned approach driven by 4C’s including context, culture, capability and collaboration, he added.

“We are instigators, mentors, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and advisors building tangible business with solid foundations.”

It is perhaps Bales’ hard-earned experiences throughout his career that makes him such a resilient leader, a “global futurist” bent on helping others go digital. Over the years, Bales has involved himself in over 30 business ventures and has written the best-selling book Mobile Ready: Connecting With The Untethered Customer.

His vision has inspired many others, having been invited to speak for TEDx, Social Media Week, Google Think, Fund Forum, Asian Banker, and Next Money. He has also written a number of thought pieces on lead market expansion and innovation capability that have been published by WIRED, Australian Financial Review, and E27.

For now, he is set on strengthening Innovation Labs Asia in Singapore and expanding its reach across the globe. There’s no way but up for Scott Bales.
