AWS launches innovation hub in Singapore
AWS and Digital Industry Singapore also launched the AI Springboard initiative.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has opened its first 8,000-square-foot AWS Innovation Hub in Asia Pacific (APAC), located at the AWS corporate office in Singapore.
The facility offers stakeholders to interact with AWS, Amazon-wide technologies, and over 30 partner solutions across 50 real-world customer use cases for cloud technology. It aims to accelerate digital and artificial intelligence development, supplementing AWS's prior $11.5b (US$9b) cloud infrastructure investment in Singapore by 2028.
Each year, it will host over 1,000 C-suite leaders for cloud and gen AI innovation, alongside providing 200 Singaporean tertiary students an exclusive learning experience.
AWS and Digital Industry Singapore also launched the AI Springboard initiative to help 300 Singaporean enterprises scale AI across their operations within the next 12 months.
Qualifying enterprises can receive up to $600,000 in cloud credits and training, with $350,000 specifically from AI Springboard and more accessible via AWS support programs.
This comprehensive package complements the Singapore government's support of 70% of consultancy costs, capped at $105,000 per enterprise.
