Over 6 in 10 IT decision-makers wary of GenAI cloud security
This is due to a high incidence of security breaches over the last year.
More than six in 10 (66%) Singaporean IT decision-makers are worried about privacy and data security in GenAI cloud security, according to a report by SUSE which polled stakeholders across APAC.
This is due to a high incidence of security breaches with 88% and 82% of Singaporean teams confirming a cloud and edge security incident over the last year, respectively. Other concerns include vulnerabilities in the AI supply chain (56%) and AI-powered cyber attacks (50%).
The report also found that data loss and implementing zero-trust security measures (44%) are the number one challenges in securing edge computing. This is followed by ensuring data privacy and compliance with regulations (38%).
Additionally, the highest concerns around third party and cloud are virtual machines (36%), followed by ransomware attacks (34%), and vulnerabilities in third-party images and packages (30%).
However, there is a high willingness (90%) from IT decision-makers to migrate more workloads to the cloud if data safety can be guaranteed, indicating a strong potential for increased cloud adoption.
Moreover, 52% of IT decision-makers intend to review their software supply chain to increase security.
