Trend Micro launches Scam Radar tool to detect fraud in real time

Three in five residents have encountered scam attempts, and one in three say they’ve fallen victim, according to the firm.

Cybersecurity firm Trend Micro has rolled out a new AI-powered tool called Scam Radar in Singapore.

Integrated into its ScamCheck app, the feature offers round-the-clock monitoring to alert users of coordinated scam activity across SMS, websites, and messaging platforms.

According to Trend Micro’s 2025 online scams survey, three in five residents have encountered scam attempts, and one in three say they’ve fallen victim.

The study highlighted that all age groups are affected, not just seniors, with the so-called “sandwich generation” (aged 35–55) being particularly vulnerable due to time pressures and caregiving responsibilities.

The firm said Scam Radar analyses behavioural patterns and content cues to detect scams in progress—before users interact with them.

It also includes features like deepfake detection during video calls, screenshot scanning, SMS filtering, and privacy-first design, ensuring no data is stored.
