Chubb names two new division heads

They will both report to Hng Keng Yoong, Chubb’s Singapore president.

Chubb has appointed two key executives in its Singapore general insurance operation. With immediate effect, Jerry Ng assumes the role of Division Head of Consumer and Bancassurance, while Eric Kwan takes on the responsibilities of Division Head of Property & Casualty (P&C) and Head of Independent Distribution Partners (IDP).

Both will report to Hng Keng Yoong, Country President for Chubb in Singapore.

In addition to his existing role as Division Head of Bancassurance, Ng now also oversees Chubb Singapore's consumer business, which includes Accident & Health (A&H) and International Personal Lines (IPL).

He will focus on enhancing the consumer business's success, driving new partnerships, and spearheading digital initiatives to support growth.

As the new Head of IDP, Kwan assumes overall responsibility for Chubb's distribution strategy and production via agency and local broker partners. He retains his role as Division Head of P&C, with a continued focus on optimizing service delivery to Chubb's distribution partners.

Yoong, Chubb's Country President in Singapore, praised both leaders for their contributions, emphasising their commitment to delivering excellence in underwriting and service. Their appointments align with Chubb's expansion goals in Singapore, reflecting the company's confidence in their expertise.

Ng brings over 30 years of sales and marketing experience, having previously served as Senior Vice President and Lead, Regional Bancassurance at a local insurance company before joining Chubb in 2019.

Kwan, with nearly 25 years of industry experience, held various senior roles across different lines of business and distribution channels. Prior to joining Chubb in 2019, he was the Head of P&C at a local insurance company in Singapore.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
