Over 240 SG traders to visit the ‘biggest ever’ Taipei Cycle

The 2024 edition is expected to exceed the 20,000 visitors and 4,200 international buyers recorded last year.

This March, Taiwan is set to welcome consumers and companies from around the globe to the largest cycling industry event, Taipei Cycle, with Singaporeans amongst the top three groups of visitors.

According to the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), more than 240 visitors from Singapore are expected to attend the Taipei Cycle 2024. This year’s event has grown larger than its pre-pandemic edition of 950 exhibitors representing 30 countries.

Singapore's interest in Taipei Cycle is reflected in its ranking as the fourth-largest buyer last year, capturing a 5.9% share, coming after the US with 8% and before Germany, which had a 5.3% share.

Its relationship with Taiwan extends beyond the trade show floor, with bilateral trade reaching US$42b in 2022, making Singapore Taiwan's sixth-largest trading partner and its fifth-largest export market.

Innovation showcase

With a total of 3,500 booths, this year’s Taipei Cycle will embrace the themes of Micro-Mobility, Startup & Innovation, Green Action and Culture & Lifestyle.

TAITRA CEO Simon Wang highlighted Taiwan’s dedication to lowering its carbon emissions, mentioning how the bicycle industry has contributed to this effort by focusing on sustainable production, innovative designs, and the creation of new materials.

Industry leaders like Merida Bikes, Giant Bicycles, Shimano, and Panaracer are returning to this year’s Taipei Cycle event, alongside international bicycle associations from Europe and the United States.

The expo is scheduled for March 6 to 9 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX). It will feature a variety of displays, including all types of bicycles, cargo bikes, and cycling esports, complemented by workshops, forums, and e-bike demonstrations.

The 4th floor of TaiNEX Hall 2 will be dedicated solely to displaying e-bikes and e-mobility supply chain products, complemented by an e-bike demo track for test rides.

A new highlight this year is the collaboration with Anchor Asia (Anchor Taiwan) to launch the inaugural Bike Venture Program, blending mobility, technology, and capital. The program will feature Bike Venture Summit (March 6), Pitch and Happy Hours with the 10 Bike Venture Startup Honorees ranging from electrification, and disruptive business models to ESG solutions (March 7), and Bike Venture Innovation Salon (March 8).

Taipei Cycle is Asia's largest cycling industry trade show showcasing industry trends and the latest in technology from the leading and most progressive companies globally. For more information, visit http://www.taipeicycle.com.tw.
