Fu Yu registers a net profit of $5,200 in 1Q24

The company linked low net profit to its manufacturing arm.

Fu Yu registered a net profit of $5,200 in 1Q24 despite achieving a revenue surge.

The company attributed its low net profit to its manufacturing business, which recorded a net loss in 1Q24.

Its manufacturing business revenue dropped 4.0% YoY to $25.3m due to reduced sales in the networking & communications and printing & imaging segments.

Higher contribution from the consumer segment, which rose 31% YoY to $11.4m, partially offset the decline.

Meanwhile, Fu Yu's supply chain solutions unit (FYSCS) helped boost group revenue to $78.9m.

FYSCS’s revenue soared to $53.6m, increasing more than five times from $9.7m a year ago.

For 2025, Fu Yu remains optimistic with new projects recently secured in the biomedical industry.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
