Henkel targets high-growth markets with new regional hub

The Centre supports the semiconductor clusters of Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.

Henkel has relocated its Singapore operations to Geneo at Singapore Science Park, setting up a hub that brings together the company’s adhesives application engineering laboratory, global supply chain hub, adhesive operations digital team, and its Academy of Hair.

It includes key facility Henkel Southeast Asia Electronic Adhesives Technical Centre, which supports customers in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand, mainly in semiconductors and consumer electronics.

The centre is the largest electronic adhesives application engineering laboratory in Southeast Asia.

The upgraded lab provides material testing and failure analysis and can replicate customer production processes such as dispensing, die attach, lamination, printing and dicing to shorten testing and troubleshooting timelines.

Henkel said the centre has recorded consistent year-on-year growth and is expanding its role in advanced development projects.

The company  is also using the site to test alternatives to PFAS-based materials and reduce nitrogen and water use in its operations.

The company’s Singapore team also manages global supply chain planning and develops cloud-based systems linking its manufacturing plants in Asia.

Henkel said co-locating these teams would speed up decision-making and the rollout of Industry 4.0 systems.

The hub includes an Academy of Hair for training professionals in technical skills, salon management, and digital content creation.

The Singapore Economic Development Board said the project would support the city’s specialty chemicals, electronics packaging, and advanced materials sectors.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
