MTI teams up with CASE to launch talks helping consumers make better informed purchases

It's to address the high volume of product complaints.

Singapore is puts a premium on consumer awareness as the ministry of trade and industry collaborates with the Consumers Association of Singapore to help citizens help better informed purchase decisions.

In a speech by Low Yen Ling, parliamentary secretary, ministry of education and ministry of trade and industry, starting this month, CASE will work with the five CDCs (Community Development Councils) over the next three years to roll out consumer education talks and reach out to heartlanders.

“The talks will teach consumers what they should look out for when making purchases, especially for products and services that have attracted a high volume of complaints, like the consumers should read and understand the terms and conditions of the deal before entering into a transaction,” she said.

Meanwhile, she also urged CASE to explore new channels to educate consumers and build consumer awareness, especially in areas where we are seeing more issues faced by consumers.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
