Budget 2026: Gov’t to boost grants for firms expanding abroad
SMEs can claim up to 70% support for their internationalisation initiatives.
The government is enhancing support levels for grant schemes for companies expanding abroad, according to Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
Under the changes, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can receive up to 70% support for internationalisation initiatives, whilst non-SMEs can receive up to 50%, Wong said in his Budget 2026 speech.
The ‘Double Tax Deduction for Internationalisation’ scheme will allow qualifying activities to receive automatic 200% tax deductions, with the cap raised from $150,000 to $400,000.
The government will also enhance the 'Enterprise Financing Scheme' by increasing the maximum loan quantum for trade and fixed asset loans, Wong added.
