This chart from analyst, CGS-CIMB, found that Singapore Exchange’s derivatives traded volume went up 3.7% quarter-on-quarter in 2QFY6/23.
SGX’s securities daily average value rose 10% year-on-year to $935m in December 2022.
The analyst said SGX saw higher demand for derivatives, such as interest rate futures and foreign exchange futures, in December 2022 and the first half of 2023.
It helped offset a decrease in securities volume due to macroeconomic uncertainties.
