Nam Cheong’s net profit falls 80% to $41.5m in 9M
Its earnings dropped on weaker joint venture gains.
Nam Cheong Limited reported net profit of $41.5m (RM 134m) for the nine months ended 30 September 2025, down 80% from $212m (RM 684m) in 9M FY2024, according to its unaudited financial statements released on 14 November 2025.
Profit attributable to shareholders was $38.8m (RM 125m), compared with $208m (RM 671m) a year earlier.
Gross profit declined 12% year on year to $71m (RM 229m), whilst revenue fell 12% to $139m (RM 449m), as stated by the company. Other income dropped sharply to $2.1m (RM 6.8m) from $158m (RM 509m) in the prior year, reflecting the absence of one‑off gains. Finance costs rose 7% to $4.9m (RM 15.7m).
Total comprehensive income attributable to shareholders decreased to $37.8m (RM 122m), compared with $202m (RM 652m) in 9M FY2024. Net assets stood at $213m (RM 686m) as at 30 September 2025, up from $174m (RM 561m) at the end of December 2024, according to the filing.
Nam Cheong said earnings in 9M FY2025 were significantly lower due to reduced contributions from joint ventures and associates, alongside weaker other income.
