Chart of the Day: Singaporean investors' top three investments

Nearly half of them (46%) invest in fixed deposits.

Almost half of Singaporean investors (46%) selected fixed deposits as their preferred asset class to invest in when surveyed by YouGov and ADDX.

Apart from fixed deposits or other low-risk cash management solutions, about 40% of Singaporean investors also prefer allocating investments in stocks, whilst slightly above 30% prefer funds, including units trust, mutual funds, and Exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Bonds and other fixed-income products are the least popular amongst Singaporean investors.

According to YouGov and ADDX, the survey results show that Asian investors, including Singaporeans, are looking for safer options this year.

Meanwhile. the survey also found that Singaporeans were the "most future-oriented," with 39% saying they will set aside 90% to 100% of an unexpectedly inherited US$100,000 to invest.
