FairPrice Group and Central Food Retail partner to expand Thai offerings in Singapore

It will enhance the availability of Thai food and snacks in Singapore.

FairPrice Group (FPG) has entered a strategic partnership with Central Food Retail Group (CFG), operator of Tops, Thailand’s largest supermarket chain.

The new collaboration will enhance the availability of Thai food and snacks in Singapore.

Starting in November, FairPrice supermarkets, including Finest and Xtra, as well as Cheers and FairPrice Xpress convenience stores, will offer a broader selection of Thai food products. The expanded range will also be available on FairPrice’s online platforms.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) is the first of its kind between FPG and a Thai retailer. It will introduce CFG’s brands, such as MY CHOICE, MY CHOICE THAI, TOPS, and SNACKER, to FairPrice stores.

In return, FairPrice’s own brands and national consumer brands, like Golden Chef, will be available in CFG’s retail outlets.

"Singapore's appreciation for Thai cuisine is stronger than ever and as Singapore's largest retailer, we're thrilled to elevate that experience,” said Vipul Chawla, Group CEO, FairPrice Group. “With more Singaporeans travelling to Thailand and developing a deeper appreciation for Thailand's rich culinary heritage, the demand for authentic Thai flavours at home is undeniable.”

Stephane Coum, CEO of Central Food Retail, added: “Through this collaboration, we aim to bring the best of Thai products to Singaporean consumers, offering them a taste of our rich culinary heritage.”

“Leveraging FairPrice Group’s strong network, we ensure our products reach a wide audience, seamlessly integrating in-store and online platforms, which is core to our world-class retail strategy,” she added.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
