Former PSA chairman Fock Siew Wah dies at 84
Siew Wah was also the founding chairman of SMRT and the LTA.
Former Chairman of PSA International Fock Siew Wah has passed away at the age of 84.
In a Facebook post on 6 Jan, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong expressed his sorrow at the news, recalling their long-standing relationship and Siew Wah’s dedication to service.
“We met most recently last February, where I personally thanked him for the work he has done, and more importantly, his friendship and support over four decades,” he said.
Siew Wah, who served with distinction in various capacities, was a founding Chairman of Singapore Mass Rapid Transit Limited and the Land Transport Authority. He also held key positions on the boards of Temasek Holdings, DBS Bank, and Singapore Airlines, amongst other government-linked companies.
In August 2005, Siew Wah was appointed chairman of PSA International, a role he held for more than 13 years before retiring in 2019.
“As one of our pioneer leaders, Siew Wah’s eye for talent and heart for service helped the many organisations he was involved in grow into what they are today,” the prime minister said. “He will be deeply missed. Thank you, Siew Wah.”
