Heng Swee Keat exits MAS board effective 1 January
The former managing director steps down after a 20-year tenure.
Heng Swee Keat has relinquished his position as a member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) Board of Directors with effect from 1 January 2026, according to a press release.
Gan Kim Yong, Chairman of the MAS Board, said Heng served on the board for two decades, including as Managing Director from 2005 to 2011. During his tenure, Heng led MAS during the 2008 global financial crisis and oversaw reforms related to risk management and corporate governance in financial institutions.
Gan said Heng also played a role in initiatives related to Singapore’s financial sector development, financial technology adoption and talent development.
