NETS unveils terminal-less contactless payment solution

It accepts card payments and QR payments from local and overseas apps.

Singapore's NETS has launched SoftPOS, a terminal-less payment solution enabling its merchants to accept contactless payments from card, QR, or mobile.

Card payments accepted include the NETS ATM / debit card, NETS Prepaid Card and major international card schemes.

QR payments can be accepted from DBS, OCBC and UOB banking apps, as well as select overseas banking and wallet apps from China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

Merchants can download the NETS SoftPOST app from the Google Play Store and use their Android smart devices as payment terminals to accept contactless payments.

NETS said that merchants do not need to worry about additional terminals or hardware to integrate into their existing workflows, all whilst allowing them to offer on-the-go payment acceptance securely.

NETS SoftPOS is compatible with most Android based devices including single or dual Screen POS hardware and tablets should merchants prefer not to use their personal mobile devices, according to NETS.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
