MoM simplifies lifting equipment tests for businesses

This will provide flexibility by allowing occupiers to appoint competent persons.

The Ministry of Manpower (MoM) will remove periodic overload testing requirements after lifting equipment registration to strengthen workplace safety and health standards, whilst reducing costs.

This will provide flexibility by allowing occupiers to appoint competent persons or continue with Authorised Examiners to conduct periodic Lifting Gear re-examinations.

Authorised Examiners will still be required for critical inspections such as before first use and after major repairs.
