PSB Academy wins SBR National Business Awards for sustainable STEM Education

The STEM Conference sets a new standard in integrating sustainability with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics education, shaping the future of global sustainability challenges.

PSB Academy, one of Singapore's leading private education institutions, has been recognised in the Education category at the SBR National Business Awards 2024 for its groundbreaking STEM Conference 2023 — Driving Sustainability in STEM.

Held on May 30th, 2023, in the academy’s impressive $10m STEM Wing of the City Campus, this event marked a significant leap towards integrating sustainability into Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. In partnership with Channel NewsAsia as an Official Media Partner, the conference underscored PSB Academy's role as a visionary in higher education, fostering discussions that bridge the latest developments in STEM with sustainable practices.

The conference highlighted the pressing need for sustainability in STEM, encouraging a dialogue amongst experts to explore how these principles can be woven into the curriculums of higher-learning institutions and the future work landscape of STEM professionals. Distinguished speakers, including Dr Charles Ong, Dean of PSB Academy, Professor Zee Upton, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) of the University of Newcastle, Australia and Mr Dalson Chung, Director of National Environment Agency and President of The Institution of Engineers Singapore, shared insights on fostering collaborations across various stakeholders to drive sustainability in STEM, aligning with Singapore's 2030 Green Plan and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

PSB Academy's strategic initiative to review its graduate attributes to emphasise sustainability reflects a commitment to nurturing a generation of socially responsible and innovative professionals capable of addressing global sustainability challenges. By leveraging industry partnerships, the academy has exposed its students to real-world sustainability issues, ensuring that theoretical knowledge translates into impactful solutions.

The successful collaboration with Channel NewsAsia not only amplified the conference's reach but also ensured that the pivotal discussions on sustainability in STEM extended beyond the immediate audience, contributing to a broader understanding and appreciation of sustainable practices within the STEM community and beyond.

The recognition of PSB Academy at the SBR National Business Awards 2024 celebrates the institution's innovative approach to education, particularly in promoting sustainability within the STEM fields. It underscores the academy's role in preparing future leaders who are equipped to tackle the sustainability challenges of tomorrow with knowledge, skill, and a deep sense of responsibility. As PSB Academy continues to evolve and expand its offerings, it remains a beacon of excellence in STEM education, driving positive change and fostering a sustainable future for all.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
