Daily Briefing: 5 ways to spend less on your HDB flat; Singapore to go ahead with TPP ratification

And Singapore has the best city infrastructure in the world but how does it fare in other areas?

From DollarsAndSense: We all have expectations about our first house. We want it to be at a good location – preferably near an MRT station, a good primary school and hawker centres. We dream that the house will be spacious and look like one of those in an IKEA booklet. We also want to get the house fast. However, when we balance these expectations against our budget, there are many practical constraints.

From Yahoo: Singapore will push forward with ratification of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Friday (24 March), at the end of a four-day official visit to Vietnam. According to media reports, Lee noted that signatories to the pact had adopted a wait-and-see approach in the wake of President Donald Trump signing an executive order in January to withdraw the US from the TPP.

From GET.com: Living, breathing and working here, how do you feel about the quality of life on our Little Red Dot? We all already know that Singapore is a magnet for rich people to reside in, and this may or may not irk you depending on how you look at things - Singapore has been ranked the best destination for expats to live in according to consulting firm Mercer's 19th Quality of Living recently released survey.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
