Chart of the Day: Here's what Singapore online shoppers buy based on income bracket

Most of online shoppers spend on fashion items.

Online shoppers in the city-state spend $155 a month on retail purchases including fashion, health, beauty and electronics.

According to a report by SingSaver and Shopback, Those with monthly salaries between $4,000 and $5,000 spend the most at $194 a month, which is 20% more than those earning $5,000 – $6,000.

Those in the said montly income bracket count travel as part of their top three online expenditures.

"Fashion is a number one spend category for shoppers with a monthly income under S$6,000. Electronics is the next most popular category for those earning $3,000 – $5,000 a month, and Health & Beauty for those earning less than $3,000 a month," the report pointed out.

The study also revealed that those earning more than $6,000 spend more on online groceries than any other products.
