Singapore has the fastest fixed broadband speed in the world
Average download speed is at 181.47 Mbps.
Singapore beat 132 countries to once again nab the top spot in the global fastest fixed broadband rankings, according to Ookla's Speedtest Global Index.

Average download speed in the Lion City is at 181.47 Mbps which is over three times the global average download speed of 46.41 Mbps.

Hong Kong finished second in the global rankings with broadbad speeds of 145.65 Mbps followed by Iceland, Romania and South Korea.
Despite holding the record of broadband speeds, Hong Kong has Singapore beat in terms of broadband penetration as the SAR ranks 20th with a penetration rate of 31.6% compared to Singapore’s 26.1% which ranks it at 29th, according to data from the International Telecommunication Union.
In terms of mobile internet speeds, Qatar nabbed the top spot followed by Norway and United Arab Emirates. Singapore came in at fourth place with average mobile download speed of 52.84 Mbps which is still higher than the global average of 22.81 Mbps.
Hong Kong was ranked 42nd for average mobile download speed with 29.06 Mbps.
The global speed test rankings is conducted by US-based Ookla that specialises in internet testing and analysis.
