Bridge Alliance names Loo Boon Chee as CEO as Dr. Ong retires
Loo will assume the post starting 1 April.
Bridge Alliance has appointed Loo Boon Chee as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 April 2026, following the announcement of Dr. Ong Geok Chwee’s retirement at the end of March.
Dr. Ong joined Bridge Alliance in March 2018 and transformed the company into a regional product house. During her tenure, she enabled member operators with new capabilities, strengthened the alliance’s community, and expanded its membership to include Deutsche Telekom (Europe) and du (UAE).
Loo, who currently serves as Senior Vice President of Roaming and Products at Bridge Alliance, joined the company in April 2020, according to a press release.
He has worked closely with Dr Ong to establish Bridge Alliance’s regional Communications Platform-as-a-Service and the Bridge Alliance API Exchange (BAEx).
Loo brings more than three decades of regional experience in the telecommunications industry.
He earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Nanyang Technological University in 1993 and a Master of Science (Management) degree from Stanford University in 2004.
Bill Chang, Chairman of the Bridge Alliance Board, thanked Dr Ong for her contributions to the company.
“The Board is confident in Boon Chee’s ability to take Bridge Alliance to greater heights as the industry accelerates towards the era of digitalisation and artificial intelligence,” Chang said.
“With the support of the Board, management, and team, I will continue to work closely with our member operators and partners to champion our business pillars and values as a leading global mobile alliance,” Loo said.
