Singtel renews UTES pact with focus on AI and new skills
The training will be provided organisation wide.
Singtel has renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Union of Telecoms Employees of Singapore (UTES), reinforcing its commitment to workforce transformation with a strategic focus on artificial intelligence (AI), sustainability, and emerging skills.
This forms part of Singtel's multi-tier AI training target of training Singapore-based employees in AI, with 3,000 AI as practitioners and 300 as AI specialists.
The renewed partnership follows earlier investment commitments, including a $45m initiative launched in 2019 to advance digital skills over three years and a sustained annual investment of $20m since 2022 to support ongoing training.
In addition to internal training, Singtel’s AI strategy is structured around its roles as an adopter, builder-provider, and enabler of AI—leveraging its core businesses in connectivity, digital infrastructure, and digital services.
