COE premiums slump across the board in February’s first bidding exercise

Big car premiums led the decline.

Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums declined for all categories in the first bidding exercise for February, led by a sharp drop in Category B premiums.

COE premiums for Cat B cars—or vehicles larger than 1600 cc—dropped to $38,601 in the latest bidding round, down 23% from $50,089 in the second bidding exercise for January.

Premiums for Cat A cars, or those smaller than 1600cc, fell to $46,651 from $51,301 in the previous bidding exercise.

Premiums for goods vehicles and buses dropped to $45,036, down by $1,466. Motorcycle premiums stayed fairly flat at $6,503, compared to $6,512 in the previous round.
COE premiums in the open category fell to $44,001 from $51,000 previously.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
