ComfortDelGro to install shields in training cars
All learners will also be required to don face masks during practical lessons.
ComfortDelGro Driving Centre (CDC) will be installing shields in all of its training cars to provide both learners and trainers with an added level of assurance, according to an announcement.
All 163 training cars in the fleet will be installed with the “instructor coaching shield”, in anticipation of Phase 2 of reopening. This is made of a 0.8-mm transparent, soft plastic material that is about 80 cm wide x 80 cm long, which is secured to the inner roofing of the vehicle.
The shield does not obstruct the learner’s nor the instructor’s view of the side mirrors and assured that visibility will not be affected even at night.
Apart from the shield, all learners and instructors will be required to don face masks during practical lessons. CDC instructors will also be asked to put on goggles, and wind down windows during training.
All training cars, including the shield, will be disinfected after each training.
