Competition regulator says no guidance yet on Grab and GoTo merger

The commission said it is aware of news reports of a possible merger.

The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore said on that it has not received any any notification on the merger of ride and delivery firms Grab and GoTo, a report by Reuters said.

In an email reply to Reuters, the commission said that it was aware of media reports regarding the possible merger between the two. The commission also said that it is open to engaging with the parties via its merger notification and pre-notification discussion processes.

Singapore firm Grab is one of the biggest ride hailing and delivery firms in Southeast Asia. GoTo is an Indonesian technology company created when ride-hailing and payments firm Gojek merged with e-commerce company Tokopedia.
