LTA awards $34.3m contract for Downtown Line's Hume station

It covers the construction of an entrance, ventilation shaft, and fitting-out works.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded JSM Construction Group a $34.3m contract for the completion of the Hume station on the Downtown Line, a statement read.

The new contract covers the construction of a station entrance, ventilation shaft, and fitting-out works for the new station. Located along Upper Bukit Timah Road between Hillview and Beauty World station, Hume station is set to open in 2025.

A station box with basic structural provisions had earlier been constructed. In order to fit out the underground station, JSM will be carrying out extensive installation works including architectural, plumbing, and sanitary requirements.

Beyond civil works, the station will also require the installation and testing of rail systems and electrical and mechanical (E&M) services. The contracts for the E&M services will be awarded later in Q1, whilst the rail systems will be procured from the incumbent contractors who had earlier supplied them for the Downtown Line.
