Singapore sees slight dip in public bus wait time satisfaction

The mean satisfaction score for waiting time fell to 6.8 in 2023.

Commuter satisfaction with bus waiting times declined in 2023, according to the Public Transport Council (PTC).

The mean satisfaction score for waiting time fell from 7.1 in 2022 to 6.8 in 2023 for buses, PTC reported.

"Waiting Time" alongside "Reliability" and "Travel Time" are the three most important service attributes for bus and train services identified by commuters.

Overall, commuters, including persons with disabilities, expressed satisfaction with public transport in 2023.

Bus and train services recorded an average public transport satisfaction score of 7.8 out of 10.

The survey revealed that 93% of commuters were satisfied with public transport, consistent with 2022. Commuters rated train services with a mean score of 8.0 and bus services at 7.7.

The highest-rated attributes were Safety & Security, Accessibility, and Service Information, with Safety & Security topping the list with a score of 8.4.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
