SMRT appoints Desmond Kuek Bak Chye as President and CEO

Mr Kuek is active in official government roles since 1986.

The Board of SMRT announced the appointment of Desmond Kuek Bak Chye as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Kuek, 49, is currently the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Environment and Water Resources from 2010 until September 2012. He also served in the Republic of Singapore Armed Forces from 1986 to 2010, according to an SMRT report.
