Singapore businesses showcase branding success in new book
The latest book of The UnNoticed Entrepreneur compiles strategies from 50 business leaders.
Jim A. James, Author and Founder of UnNoticed Ventures, has launched the third volume of The UnNoticed Entrepreneur, a comprehensive guide for entrepreneurs seeking to gain visibility in a competitive landscape.
Published by Wiley, the book highlights three Singapore-based companies that have successfully navigated the challenges of branding and expansion.
"It's a master class for entrepreneurs that would like to learn how to get noticed," said James. "It's not me explaining how to get noticed. It's 50 entrepreneurs that I've interviewed on my podcast who have explained how they get noticed for free."
The book features Wego, abillion, and The Projector, each offering unique insights into how businesses in Singapore can scale globally and locally by leveraging connectivity, community engagement, and innovative funding strategies.
"Wego, an international travel portal based out of Singapore, is now the largest meta search engine in Southeast Asia and the Middle East," said James. "The key lesson from Ross Veitch, the founder, is really that from Singapore, it's possible to go global because you have the connectivity and the goodwill to carry you to global markets."
Vikas Garg's vegan platform, abillion, has harnessed the power of user reviews to build an engaged global community. "The key lesson there has been that he's built that whole brand on user reviews," James explained. "His first user review came from Hawaii. So geography is certainly not a barrier."
Karen Tan's The Projector, a community-driven cinema, has utilised crowdfunding to grow its business and connect with its audience. "They raised money on a crowdfunding platform, and the people that put the money into the company are the moviegoers," said James.
He emphasised that authenticity, purpose, and technology are crucial for entrepreneurs looking to expand their brands. He advised entrepreneurs to clearly define their purpose to build meaningful connections with their audiences.
Leveraging technology is also critical for brand growth. "Not just AI, but traditional mobile communications and content creation technology," James stated.
The UnNoticed Entrepreneur is available at major online retailers, including Amazon and Waterstones, as well as Kinokuniya in Singapore. The book can also be found in airports and bookstores across the UK.
