Singapore airport struggles with on time departures

Only 55.9% of Singapore departure flights flew on time in March, a performance eclipsed by 25 other cities.

In its new Top 30 World Airports report, FlightStates named Tokyo as the best performing airlines with an impressive 94.02% on time flights or flights that departed less than 15 minutes on schedule. This is more than 40 percentage points higher than Singapore's.

Among Asian cities, Bangkok and Hong Kong also performed relatively better than Singapore in on time flights of 78.81% and 74.15%, respectively.

Singapore got dragged down by a whopping 27.94% late flights, or flights that ran within 15-29 minutes late. In contrast, the other higher-ranking Asian cities posted far fewer late flights: Tokyo (4.12%), Bangkok (12.38%), and Hong Kong (12.53%).

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
