Air passenger load in Singapore up 5.7% in first eight months of 2017

Singapore remains one of the world’s busiest airports.

Singapore’s total air passenger load as handled by Changi airport increased 5.7% YoY to 41 million passengers in the eight months to August 2017, according to Business Travel Pulse Singapore released by CWT Solutions Group and CAPA – Centre for Aviation.

The report noted that Changi posted a record number of 58.7 million passengers making it the sixth busiest airport in the world for international air traffic.

CWT Solutions estimates that an aircraft takes off or lands at Changi roughly once every 90 seconds.

Among Changi’s top 10 country markets, strong performance was posted from India, China and Malaysia markets.
