Singapore strengthens support for global aviation training and development

The Singapore Aviation Academy joins the International Civil Aviation Organization for this push.

Singapore signed two aviation training agreements on 2 February 2026 with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of North Macedonia (CAA MKD) to strengthen global aviation leadership and regulatory training, according to a press release by Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).

Under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ICAO, Singapore will jointly conduct leadership and management training for the Directors-General of Civil Aviation Programme on Air Navigation Services, delivered by ICAO and the Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA).

The agreements build on the SAA’s role as a global training hub, having trained close to 170,000 aviation professionals from more than 200 countries and territories to date.

The inaugural run of the programme will take place on 11 to 12 September 2026 in Kuala Lumpur following the 61st Asia Pacific Directors-General of Civil Aviation Conference.

In a separate agreement, CAAS and North Macedonia’s civil aviation agency will expand training cooperation, including on-the-job attachments, exchanges and study visits for civil aviation professionals from North Macedonia and the wider European region.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
