ISDN profit attributable to shareholders surges 2,973% in Q1 on strong automation revenue

Revenue rose 24.2% YoY to $113.7m.

ISDN Holdings Limited reported a 2,973% year-on-year (YoY) increase in profit attributable to shareholders to $3.67m in the first quarter (Q1) ended 31 March, driven by higher revenue and improved operating leverage, according to its interim business update.

Revenue rose 24.2% YoY to $113.7m, whilst gross profit increased 19.4% to $27.7m. Gross margin fell 0.9 percentage points to 24.4%.

Profit before tax rose to $7.75m from $2.04m a year earlier, whilst profit after tax climbed to $5.32m from $614,000.

The industrial automation business, which accounts for 94% of revenue, posted $107.0m in revenue, up 23.4% YoY. Growth was driven by China and Southeast Asia, which rose 14% and 53% respectively.

ISDN said growth was supported by demand in semiconductors and industrial robotics, as well as exposure to AI-related, energy storage, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

The renewable energy segment recorded revenue of $6.7m, up from $4.8m a year earlier, supported by construction income from hydropower projects in Indonesia.

The group said order intake continued to grow into FY2026, supported by industrial automation demand and prior investments in advanced technologies.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
